How to use this Guide

It is likely that you are reading this guide because you have made a planning application to your Local Planning Authority which has been refused or has not been decided by the deadline, and you are now considering making an appeal.

The purpose of this guide is threefold:

• To provide simple information on the planning system, to help explain what happens when you submit your planning application and what will happen if you submit an appeal.
• To provide information you should consider before deciding to make an appeal.
• To provide information on how to make an appeal, should you decide to proceed.
