The Planning Inspectorate - Wales

Better Presentation of Evidence in Chief Guidance

C. Appendices

Previous Page Table of Contents

  1. The appendices should be kept to a minimum

  2. The appendices are to be in a separate bundle or bundles from the proof. They should all include plans, maps, diagrams and photographs mounted on card, be of A4 size or folded to A4 size.

  3. The appendices are to be paginated throughout and there should be a list of the appendices with page references at the beginning of the bundle.

  4. A divider with a projecting numbered tab must be placed at the beginning of each appendix.

  5. An appendix should contain, not the whole of a document, but only those pages which are relevant to the case including the title page. However the local planning authority should have available for the Inspector's use at the inquiry full copies of the Structure Plan, Local Plan and/or Unitary Development Plan, and any party producing a part of any other document should have the full document available at the inquiry.

  6. It must be made clear to the Inspector which parts of each appendix he should read before the inquiry either by reference in the proof to paragraph numbers in the appendices or by sidelining the relevant passages.
