Guide to taking part in advertisement appeals

14 Making your views known about somebody else’s advertisement proposal

You may want to make comments about an appeal that someone else has
made. For example, you may live nearby, or you may be a member of a
residents’ association or local amenity group. The paragraphs below explain
how to make your views known.

Written representations

The council will send us, as well as the person appealing, copies of any views
made when the council considered the application. The council will write to
anyone with an interest, to let them know that an appeal has been made and
the time limit for sending us comments. We will send copies of your comments
to the person appealing and the council. If we do not receive your letter within
the time limit, we may not consider it. Please tell us if you would like a copy
of the decision letter.

If you want to see what the person appealing and council have said, go to the council’s offices

Hearings

You should let the council know if you want to go to a hearing. The council
will let our Inspector know about your interest. Our Inspector will decide if
and when you may speak at the hearing.
