Cost Awards in Planning Appeals
Q11 Can I have costs awarded against me even if I do not ask for an inquiry?
Yes. If the local planning authority ask for an inquiry, or if the Inspectorate considers an inquiry to be necessary to determine the appeal, an award of costs can still be made if you unreasonably cause a cancellation, or otherwise behave unreasonably in the inquiry proceedings.
