The written procedure

We set a start date |
You send appeal form and all supporting documents to us and the
LPA. The grounds of appeal and supporting facts should make up the
full case. |
If the LPA do not want the written procedure (or we decide the
appeal needs to be heard before an Inspector), we will tell you
and arrange a hearing or inquiry. |

Within 2 weeks from the start date

You receive from the LPA a completed questionnaire and any supporting
documents. |
The LPA send you and us a copy of a completed questionnaire
and supporting documents. They also write to interested persons
about the appeal. |
Interested persons receive the LPA’s letter about the appeal.

(Late statements will not normally be accepted but will be sent

You send us 2 copies of any further statement.

The LPA send us 2 copies of any further statement.

Interested persons send us 3 copies of any comments.

You send us 2 copies of your final comments on the LPA’s
statement and on any comments from interested persons.

* Statements and comments must be sent so as to be received
within the deadlines
Note: We send copies of statements and comments to you and the LPA by
first-class post.
Decision: After any site visit (or advice that one will not be held) the
Inspector/person appointed writes the decision or sends a report to Assembly.
You and the LPA will be sent a copy of the decision notice. Anyone requesting
a copy will also be sent one.
