Section 13 - Looking to the Future

2006/07 will be another challenging year.We have committed ourselves to meeting all our Ministerial targets for casework in England by the year’s end, while continuing to meet them in Wales. We also anticipate that our role in the new Local Development Framework system will accelerate over the next twelve months.

The drive for greater productivity and efficiency will continue apace and we expect that the coming year will see many of the innovations and improvements that we have already put in place coming to full fruition. It will be our aim to secure these with the full co-operation of our staff and in the interests of our customers.

Picture of a harbourWe will look to play a full part in the development of the wider planning agenda. This means not only responding to Ministerial priorities, but also using our expertise to provide constructive feedback on how policies are working and where further improvements might be sought. We are also ready to play our part in longer term developments and, through our Chief Executive, we are leading the Householder Development Consents Review, for DCLG which is looking at an impact based approach to householder development.
