Code of Practice for Major Planning Inquiries

As part of the process of preparing for the inquiry, the Code of Practice for Major Planning Inquiries in England' (DETR Circular 05/2000, Annex 4) was used, as appropriate.

A Register of Participants (see paragraphs 13 to 16 of the Code) may be viewed by clicking here 60kb (pdf format).

'Code Status' in the Register relates to:

Part 1 - Those who wish to play a major part in the proceedings ('major participants')

Part 2 - Those wishing to give oral evidence, without playing a major part in the proceedings

Part 3 - Those who wish to submit representations in writing

(Written representations made to the Department and to New Forest District Council following the statutory advertisement of the Orders, and planning applications will be taken into account by the Inspector in reporting the findings of the inquiry to the Secretary of State).

The Register has been sent to major participants, and to New Forest District Council, Southampton City Council and Hampshire County Council, who have been asked to make it available for inspection.  Copies have also been passed to Marchwood Village Hall, Hythe Library and the Civic Centre, Totton
