Felixstowe South Reconfiguration Inquiry

On 26 October 2004, a public inquiry opened into the proposal by Hutchison Ports (UK) Ltd to provide additional deepwater berths and container handling capacity at the Port of Felixstowe. The applications under consideration comprised:

  • planning application (CO3/2000) under appeal for the redevelopment and realignment of the Landguard Terminal and adjacent areas;
  • an application under the Harbours Act 1964 for the extension and realignment of the quayline at Felixstowe South;
  • two applications under Section 34 of the Coast Protection Act 1949 to dispose of dredged arisings relating to the proposal, and
  • an application for the proposed Felixstowe Dock and Railway (Land Aquisition) Order
