London Gateway (Shell Haven) Inquiry

Bus service for local residents


1. A “dial a minibus” service is to be provided by the applicants, the route of which has been agreed by them with Thurrock Council. The service is for local residents who wish to attend the inquiry.


2. The pickup and setting down points are indicated on the attached plan.

3. Everyone using the service will be required to contribute towards the cost of the service at a rate of £2.00 per single journey.


Service to Venue


4. No transport will be provided on an ad hoc basis. Those wishing to use the service should call (01375 673673 ref London Gateway Public Inquiries) by the times shown below, giving their names and addresses:

  • for a circa 9am service - no later than 5pm the previous day.
  • for a lunchtime service - no later than 10am the same morning.


5. If you wish a return service, please book that at the same time.

6. For the opening day of the inquiry only (Tuesday 25 February), larger vehicles will be on standby. For that day only, the service to the venue will pick up passengers between 8.30am and 9am. There will be no lunchtime service to or from the venue on that day.

7. Again, no transport will be provided on an ad hoc basis. Those wishing to use the service should call (01375 673673 ref London Gateway Public Inquiries) by the times shown below, giving their names and addresses:

  • for a lunchtime journey - by 10am the same morning.
  • for journey at the close of a day’s sitting - by midday on the same day.


8. For those who wish to be taken back to their pick-up point, the vehicle will leave the venue no later than 10 minutes after the close of sitting (ie, at lunchtime, or after the completion of the day’s sitting).
