We have about 700 staff in the Planning Inspectorate plus a further 120 people who carry out work for us under a variety of fee-paid contracts. About 390 are professionally qualified Planning Inspectors who work from home.
The majority of our administrative staff (in all over 450 people) work in our offices in Bristol; we also have an office in Cardiff which serves the National Assembly for Wales. They undertake a wide range of support functions.
