Administrative Assistant Posts
Our ref: EB-08-08 Salary Range: £15,405 to £16,371 (pro rata for part time staff).
During the next few months there are likely to be permanent and fixed term vacancies arising for Administrative Assistants in the Planning Inspectorate. In anticipation of this, we are conducting a recruitment exercise now so that we have successful candidates who will be available for appointments as they arise.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Decision letter despatch for all appeals
- Incoming and outgoing post
- Scanning
- Register of new appeals
- Maintain file registry
- Update Statistical spreadsheets
- Maintain new appeals information on The Planning Inspectorate website
- Any other tasks as may be reasonably expected (e.g. word processing, filing, taking telephone messages, photocopying and answering basic queries)
Knowledge and Qualifications
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- 2 GCSE’s grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications for an Administrative Assistant post. NB! Proof will be required
- Ability to demonstrate a good standard of written and verbal use of the English language.
- Basic competence and ability in the use of IT skills. (Word, Excel)
There will be a short IT test as part of the selection process
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Experience of dealing with telephone enquiries
- Experience of working as part of a team
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS FOR GOVERNMENT (PSG)
As well as the qualities and skills above, the post-holder will need to demonstrate the following skills and behaviours, based on the Government Professional skills for Government (PSG).
We will want you to give examples of how you have demonstrated those behaviours.
