Listed Building Appeals: England

Table 22 shows the number of listed building appeals under section 20 of the Planning (Listed Building and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 received, withdrawn decided and allowed during the year together with the number of cases in hand. The number of appeals received in 1999-2000 fell by just over 1% and the number of appeals decided increased by 5%.

Table 23 shows the number of listed building enforcement notice appeals, under section 39 of the Planning (Listed Building and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, received, withdrawn and decided. It also gives the number of notices upheld. The number of appeals received in 1999-2000 fell by over 11%, but the number decided increased by over 12%.
