Cost Decisions and Awards

Tables 33 and 34 show the number of cost decisions issued by Inspectors and the Secretary of State in England. In 2000-2001 awards were made in 32% of costs decisions issued (30% in 1999/2000). An award of costs was made in favour of the applicant in approximately 30% of appellants' applications (27% in 1999-2000) and 44% of local authority applications (41% in 1999-2000).
