Examination in Public (EiP) - Regional Spatial Strategy Single Review: Planning for Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation in the East of England
Examination in Public (EiP) - Timetable
The process until the opening of the EiP is as follows:
- Analysis of the representations made to inform a draft list of Matters and Participants for the EiP – those invited by the Panel to participate will be notified directly. The draft list will be posted on this website in mid July. Paper copies of the draft list will be available from the Panel Secretary, at that time, upon request.
- Following publication of the draft list there will be a 28 day consultation period for any comments on it to be sent to the Panel Secretary.
- There will be a Preliminary Meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday 25 July at The Spirella Ballroom, The Spirella Building, Bridge Road, Letchworth, Hertfordshire, SG6 4ET. This meeting is to advise on preparatory work for the EiP and the procedures that will be followed at the debates: it is not to start discussing the content of any parties' case which will be presented either orally or in writing to the Panel. It is hoped that as many as possible of those invited by the Panel to participate at the EiP will be able to attend, but it is not restricted to participants.
- After the end of the 28 day consultation period the Panel will publish the final List of Matters and Participants. Again, this list will be sent directly to those invited to participate, will be posted on this website and will be available from the Panel Secretary.
- A technical meeting will be held to seek a common understanding of background supporting material at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday 10 September 2008 also at The Spirella Ballroom.
- The date and venue of the EiP has yet to be arranged, but is expected to be in the week beginning 20 October 2008. It is hoped that a draft timetable will be available at the Preliminary Meeting together with Notes for Guidance for Participants. Prospective participants should note that it is likely the Panel will be requiring statements for the various sessions to be submitted 4 weeks prior to the EiP.
