Stansted G2 Inquiry
Introduction
The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has called in for her determination applications made by BAA Limited and Stansted Airport Limited for a proposed second runway at Stansted Airport.
The list of the applications can be viewed from the Inquiry Documents page. They have been called in under powers in the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 - Section 76A (2) in respect of the applications in Part A of that list, and Section 76A (3) for the applications listed in Part B.
To consider all the relevant aspects of the proposed development, the Secretary of State has decided to hold an inquiry (in effect, concurrent inquiries) into the applications. As the applications have been referred to under a direction under Section 76A of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, the inquiry will be subject to the Town and Country Planning (Major Infrastructure Project Inquiries Procedure) (England) Rules 2005 (‘2005 Rules’). This inquiry will be concurrent with other inquiries into applications and orders submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport, and to the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. The current list of those applications/orders can be viewed from the Inquiry Documents page. The inquiry will open on 15 April 2009.
